Measuring our visitors
We measure visitors to our website using Google Analytics. This records what pages you view within our site, how you arrived at our site and some basic information about your computer. All of that information is anonymous – so we don’t know who you are; just that somebody visited our site.

Mobile applications (iOS and Android)
The following applies to both the iOS and Android versions of the Sign BSL app.
1. User accounts & identification
- No account required: the App is free to use and does not require registration, login, or personal profile creation.
2. Search request & service diagnostics logging
- Search queries: when you search for words or phrases in the App, the search term is sent to our servers to return relevant BSL video results.
- Service improvement: we log search requests anonymously to analyze search trends, identify missing sign entries, and improve video delivery and search accuracy.
- Server logs: standard server access logs (including IP address, device request parameters, and timestamp) are temporarily recorded for security, load balancing, and diagnostic purposes. Search logs are not linked to personal identities.
3. Advertising & analytics (Google AdMob)
The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements, which helps keep the service free.
- AdMob may collect and process basic device information, such as IP address, device identifiers, and ad interaction data, solely for serving ads, frequency capping, and fraud prevention.
- We do not sell personal user data or perform cross-app behavioral tracking.

4. Children's privacy & educational use
We aim to ensure the App is safe for educational environments:
- The App does not prompt users for personal data or location access.
- AdMob is configured to adhere to applicable child privacy guidelines and content rating restrictions suitable for general/educational audiences.
